We’re proud to be collaborating with Molly Hunt — a Balanggarra and Yolŋu woman with strong ties to Bunuba, Jaru and Gija Country. A digital artist, animator and muralist, originally from Wyndham 'Smokey Town' in the Kimberley, she now lives and works on Country in Derby, Western Australia.

This collaboration is based on Molly’s powerful artwork 'Welcome to Smokey Town', a visual story born from her connection to place and culture. Wyndham, known as the oldest town in the Kimberley, carries the nickname “Smokey Town” — a name that speaks to its misty, elemental beauty. During the dry season, a soft haze settles over the land from bushfires and burn-offs, casting a smoky veil across the rugged terrain. It’s a place where fire meets sky, where stories sit thick in the air — ancient, raw and alive. Molly’s work reflects this spirit, she captures the layered textures of Country, the weight of memory and the energy that runs through her home.

A lifelong storyteller, Molly works across illustration, murals and animation, and is known for bringing bold, playful narratives to life. With a background in journalism and writing, she weaves words and images together through brand collaborations and community projects—and is currently working on her debut comic as both author and illustrator.

This collaboration celebrates place, power, and purpose — and honours the stories carried in smoke and sky.
