A 100% COTTON DRIVEN LOVE LETTER TO THE NT
House of Darwin and Wah-Wah have teamed up to create this light weight 100% cotton knitted love letters that tell stories from the Northern Territory. Each design was illustrated by Luna Tunes and draws on Larrakia or Mparntwe culture, weaving Country, community and spirit into wearable art. Wah-Wah’s commitment to quality, local production and storytelling made them the perfect partner. Together, we believe clothing can do more than just keep you warm it can carry meaning, spark conversation and connect people across place.
Our newest knit is a love letter to the Central Desert. A matching knit jumper and shorts set inspired by Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and the pulse of desert's beating heart. This piece speaks to that unique energy when the sun drops and the music takes over. It’s about movement, joy, and the deep connection that exists between people and place. Inspired by the raw beauty of the desert, Desert Said Dance captures the shifting colours, stillness and vibrant power of the land.
The first time House of Darwin and Wah Wah Collaborated on was in early 2023. Together a love letter to the Top End 'Welcome to Darwin' was created. Packed with playful references to life in the north, with iconography by House of Darwin's artist, Luna Tunes reflects the warmth, humour and wildness of this place. From the tropical storms and midgey bites to the long drives and community connection, this Larrakia Land inspired merino knit captures the spirit of our home.
