HOOP DREAMS IN THE NT - YIRRKALA

HOOP DREAMS IN THE NT - YIRRKALA

Creating a strong sense of community

In 2022 House of Darwin launched Hoop Dreams.
An initiative focused on refurbishing
basketball courts located in the remote
communities of the Northern Territory.
Basketball courts are a platform for health,
dance, and wellbeing for the wider community.
A central point that’s vital in bringing
people together. House of Darwin have
refurbished three basketball courts with
murals designed by the community, for the
community. A way for the youth to see how
their thoughts and creativity can directly
affect their environment. Our program aims to
create long lasting pride and unity in
Indigenous communities.
Making communities stronger — court by court
